Courier Insurance

We understand that finding the right insurance for courier work can be stressful, costly and a drain on your time.

We specialise in providing insurance quotes for couriers, making sure that we find you the best price we can, and that we offer a customer service experience we are proud of. We can take the hassle out of finding the right insurance package as we also offer Goods in Transit insurance and Public and/or Employers liability Insurance for Couriers, Hauliers and Delivery Drivers as well as insurance for independent couriers working with the well established companies, such as Amazon.

What type of courier insurance policies can we provide?

We can provide the following;

Why choose Insurance Revolution?

At Insurance Revolution, we specialise in finding insurance quotes and policies for Courier, Haulier and Delivery drivers. We understand the industry you are in and the type of use you require on your policy. We offer very competitive quotes as well as providing the very best service to our customers.

Why is courier insurance more expensive than private car insurance?

Insurance with hire and reward use is generally more expensive than other types of insurance, mainly due to the increase in mileage. With a higher mileage you are exposed to more potential accidents and the risk of a claim increases. Here at Insurance Revolution we do a comprehensive search of the market and find you a competitive price to help assist in bringing your premium back down to affordable levels.

Do you only insure owner drivers?

No, we are happy to say we work with larger courier companies from UK-wide couriers to local independent courier firms who have owner drivers working for them. If you operate a fleet of vehicles that need insurance we can help. We work with a wide range of insurers offering single and multi-vehicle insurance products. They offer various levels of cover for vans and cars as well as drivers with varying experience of the courier industry.

Do you insure self-employed couriers who are sole traders?

Yes we do offer insurance for self-employed couriers. There are courier companies out there who will let you work to you own schedule, such as Amazon and Hermes. So if you are looking to be insured to do your own courier work, you have come to the right place.

Would I be covered if I am driving across Europe?

We can provide insurance for UK based couriers but are also able to provide CMR insurance for those driving across Europe. It is worth taking into consideration that premiums can increase if you drive internationally as this is considered to be a higher risk than driving in the UK and it is more costly for insurers to assist you whilst in a different country than it is in the UK.

Are you members of any associations?

We are members of the National Courier & Despatch Association which is the UK’s leading professional body for the courier industry in the UK. We already work with a number of their members, providing insurances for their drivers and their businesses. If you are also a member, be sure to mention to our sales staff on the phone.

Do you offer courier insurance quotes on any type of car?

We can cover many different types of car for courier work, although you may struggle to find insurance if you want to do courier work in a high powered sports car. Although a sports car may not be practical for courier work anyway. Please give us a call and speak to one of our knowledgeable members of staff, who will be able to advise you on whether we can insure your vehicle for courier work. The answer will be yes to most vehicles.

Will you cover motorbikes?

At this moment in time, the only courier vehicles we cannot provide cover for are motorcycles. We regret that we are unable to provide cover for these but hope to look into it in the future. We will happily look to get you insured for courier use for your van or car.

Will the size of my van affect the type of insurance I can take?

Yes, if your van is over 3.5 tonnes, we will have to give you a quote for a haulage insurance policy. Don’t worry though, we also have great rates for hauliers too and will be happy to help.

Can I buy breakdown cover?

Breakdown cover for couriers is often hard to find. Luckily we have negotiated rates with a leading supplier of courier breakdown products and are able to offer them to our clients. If this is of interest to you, please ask one of our advisors for more information on the products available to you.

Can I use my personal no claims bonus to reduce my cost?

Yes, with Insurance Revolution, you can use your no claims bonus from your private car to provide you with a discount on your courier policy. This can be difficult to find but it is something we can offer.

How will my personal no claims bonus affect my quote?

As mentioned above, we are able to provide you with a discount for personal no claims from different vehicles. We have created a guide below from our experience of working in the insurance industry. It must be noted that these discounts do not apply to all insurers, they do not take other factors into consideration and only act as a guide, however, they are representative and based on courier insurance policies placed by Insurance Revolution between August 2014 and August 2015.

Type of No Claims Bonus 1 2 3 4 5 or more

Working as a courier can be a rewarding and lucrative career, especially in the age of internet shopping. In fact, many people choose to work part-time as a courier to supplement their day job. If you do, you still need goods-in-transit insurance cover so speak to a specialist who can help give you the best advice and ensure you are not driving illegally.

Failing to acquire the correct insurance could result in a fine, points or even a driving ban in some circumstances which would have knock-on effects to your life, especially if you drive for a living.
